The International Conference "FROM OPTICAL TO MILLIMETRIC INTERFEROMETRY : SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL CHALLENGES" will begin on Monday July 2 at 9:30h. The meeting will take place at the
Institut d'Astrophysique et de Géophysique, Université de Liège, Avenue de Cointe, 5, B-4000 Liège, Belgium
(get to the Guillemins Station , then take the bus number 20 - direction Cointe).
Refer to the map (in three parts) of the city of Liège with indicated positions of the hotels and conference site.
Registration will begin on the conference site on Sunday, July 1 from 17:00 to 19:00h, in the Main Hall of the Observatory. A welcome drink and sandwiches will be offered. Please, be aware that buses to Cointe are every 40 minutes on week-ends. The participants will also receive the final conference program and other relevant documents, badge, meal tickets, etc...
Liège is located in the french speaking
part of Belgium, 100 km East of Brussels.
We strongly recommend to use the train - Airport City Express (every twenty minutes) which travels between Brussels-National-Airport and Brussels-Midi Station with a change at Brussels-Nord Station. It takes about 15 minutes to get from Brussels National Airport to Brussels-Nord Station.

At Brussels-Nord Station change for the train to Liège-Guillemins Station. The ticket should be bought at the National Airport Station, the cost of the ticket is about 500 Belgian francs. The trains to Liège are every half an hour.

How to get to the hotels?
The bus network covers the whole city. You are requested to get in from the front door and get off from the rear door. You may request to stop at the next bus stop by pushing the colored button at the window pillar. When getting in, you have to pay to the bus driver the ticket fees (42 Belgian francs). The bus ticket is valid 1 hour. You can take different buses during that hour.

Internet access will be provided through 6 public computers (Unix).
The conference room will be equipped with a
portable microphone, two overheads, a slide projector and a LCD projector.
Those who want to use the LCD projector are requested to notify the Local
Organizing Committee. This projector can be driven from our video recorder or a
computer (not included, please use your personal laptop).
Specifications:
- videos : normal-sized VHS cassettes, PAL
- computer : resolution 1024x768 16MCol, PC or Mac.
A compatibility test is strongly advised before
presentation.
A room for poster presentations will be reserved. The poster board for a paper will be 100 cm x 100 cm (40" x 40").

Lunches are included in the registration fees. The restaurant is located within a walking distance from the observatory .
All receptions are free of charge for registered participants as well as for the accompanying persons.

Monday, July 2- Reception at the Town Hall at 18:00h. A bus collecting the participants will leave the conference site at 17:30h.
Tuesday, July 3 - General conference for the public (in French) presented by Professor Roger Bonnet: "A la recherche des mondes habités". This conference will take place downtown, Quai van Beneden, Institut de Zoologie, at 20:00h.
Wednesday, July 4 - Visit of the Advanced
Mechanical and Optical Systems (AMOS)
followed by a cocktail from 16:15 - 19:00h. A bus collecting the participants
will leave the conference site at 15:50h and take them back downtown at
19:00h.
