Exoplanets

For about 15 years, more than 300 exoplanets have been discovered. Researchers of the OrCA group take part in these observations based on very high-resolution spectroscopy and planetary-transit photometry. A dedicated telescope, TRAPPIST, is installed since May 2010 in Chile. Furthermore, researchers of the PSILab group are interested in protoplanetary disks and develop interferometric and coronographic techniques which should allow to obtain images of exoplanets together with their chemical composition, hoping to unveil the conditions needed for the apparition of life.
